The Matignon High School Guidance Department works to achieve academic success and development for each student. Students are assigned a counselor by alphabetical order and are followed by the same counselor for their tenure at Matignon High School. The department consists of two full-time counselors who are certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and hold Masters Degrees in the field of Guidance and Counseling. In addition, the Guidance Department has contracted with local universities to provide a mentoring service with counseling interns. These college senior guidance counselor interns get real work experience while also assisting our Guidance Office.
Matignon High School encourages parent involvement in student learning by providing two parent/teacher conference evenings, parent orientation night, quarterly interim reports electronically through Edline, curriculum night, quarterly grade reports electronically through Edline, and optional weekly progress reports. Parents are also instructed to contact the Guidance Department and/or faculty at any time.
Matignon High School is a site for the College Board Exams (SAT Test and SAT Subject Tests). These tests are administered at MHS in October, November, December, May, and June. The Matignon Test center administers both standard and nonstandard administrations.

"Working with high school students for my entire career has been truly rewarding, but for the past 40 years being a part of the Matignon High School Community has been extremely special. I have seen almost 5,000 graduates cross the auditorium stage to receive their diplomas. These graduates have attended college and have become successful professionals. It is always a pleasure to see my former students when they return and hear about their life after Matignon. Whether a current student or a graduate, the Matignon Guidance Department will always assist them. I am extremely proud of our students and what they have and will accomplish. Matignon High School holds a special place in my heart because Matignon High School is a very special place."
