College Resources for Students and Parents
The Guidance Department meets with all seniors during homeroom as well as during English classes to distribute important information regarding the application process, the college essay, and the requirements and deadlines for the college admissions process.
The Guidance Department utilizes Naviance, an electronic reporting system linked with colleges and universities. Each senior and parent/guardian has a Naviance account that is also linked with the seniors Common Application account.
All seniors must complete this packet and return to the Guidance Department by October 1.

The Guidance Department is conducting this seminar for the Class of 2018 parents on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. This workshop will include information on the college search and common application process as well as what colleges are looking for from high school seniors.
Seniors are encouraged to plan ahead for the College Visitation Days in May and October. On May 31, 2017, this is a day of service for freshmen, sophomores, seniors and staff. On October 11, 2017, this is a testing day for all underclassmen at Matignon. It is expected that seniors will visit college campuses on these two days.
The entire senior class will visit a Boston area university or college where they will attend a workshop provided by the Admissions personnel at that university or college. This workshop includes information on the college application process as well as tips and strategies for writing the college essay and successful college interviews.
At times through the year, representatives from individual colleges will visit Matignon High School to meet with qualified and interested students. Seniors who are applying to Suffolk University have the opportunity to interview with the Director of Admissions from Suffolk and receive on the spot admission evaluation.
