High School Placement Test (HSPT) Prep Course
Matignon High School is offering a three day prep course for eighth grade students planning to take the High School Placement (HSPT) exam. During the course, participants will:
- Develop a test-taking plan and gain confidence
- Learn strategies for specific test sections and question type
- Practice sample questions and exercises
- Reinforce the skills necessary to excel on the test
- Receive instruction from Matignon faculty experiences in HSPT preparation
Each class will be divided into sessions. One session will focus on the verbal, reading comprehension, and language sections. The other session will cover the quantitative reasoning and math achievement sections.

Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Students do not have to attend all class meetings in order to register. Please make checks payable to Matignon High School.
HSPT Exam Information
Applicants to Matignon High School must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT is only available to students currently in 8th grade. It is highly recommended that students only take the HSPT once.
Applicants may sit for the test at any high school in the Archdiocese of Boston. Test scores may be sent to a maximum of five different high schools. The school code for Matignon High School is 17. The cost to register for the HSPT is $40.

Matignon High School will offer extended time testing on the above testing dates. To arrange for extended time testing, please ensure a copy of your student's IEP is on file with the Matignon Admissions Office prior to your exam date.
The HSPT is the preferred test for admissions to grade 9. Applicants can submit results from the SSAT in lieu of or to supplement their HSPT scores. Please note that Matignon High School is not a test site for the SSAT.
