Scholarships & Merit-based Aid
All 9th-grade applicants who submit a complete application to Matignon High School are considered for merit-based scholarships; no applications are available for Matignon scholarships. Scholarship recipients are selected using a holistic review process and take into consideration the applicant’s application essays, HSPT scores, GPA, and teacher recommendation. It is imperative that applicants take the HSPT to be eligible for scholarship opportunities.
Scholarships are renewable for all four years, contingent on student’s meeting eligibility requirements, including maintaining a minimum GPA. Matignon does not award athletic scholarships or any other non-need based extracurricular scholarships.
Applicants who apply by the deadline will be notified of their financial aid award with their mailed admission decision. The deadline to apply to Matignon High School is December 15, 2018.
Scholarships are funded primarily through the generous donations of the Matignon community, including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.
Additional Aid Opportunities
Additional aid opportunities for high school students exist outside of Matignon. Many city and town civic or business organizations will offer high school scholarships such as banks, credit unions, or the Knights of Columbus associated with your parish if you belong to a Catholic church. We encourage families to reach out to unions that family members may belong to such as police, fire, or electrical unions. Some social groups like the Elks or Lions clubs offer scholarships as well.
We will continue to update this page with additional aid opportunities.
