Winter Sports Update
January 11, 2018
Winter athletics are up and running at Matignon High School. Our student-athletes have had great success so far this winter season. The girls' basketball team is currently sitting on top of the CCL with a 5-0 record. The girls had a thrilling 50-48 win at Lowell Catholic giving them sole possession of first place. The boys' basketball team is currently 5-2. They had a huge home victory over arch-rival Arlington Catholic and a tight loss to a ranked division 2 team Tewksbury Memorial High School.
The boys' hockey team is currently sitting on top of the CCL 1 with a 7-2-1 record. They have recorded huge victories over Arlington Catholic and Bishop Fenwick, twice. Girls hockey is currently 3-4. They may have played the toughest non-conference schedule of any girls hockey team in the state. The Lady Warriors have faced Division 1 powerhouse Andover, and league powers Austin Prep and St. Mary's. All these games have been competitive, which will help the team as they move forward in their schedule.
The swim team continues to get better and better after each and every meet. Swimmers are knocking seconds off their times and have had extremely competitive meets with some of the best CCL teams.
The inaugural indoor track program at Matignon High School has been a huge success. The team earned their first victory this past week over league rival St. Mary's of Lynn. Continue to follow our Warrior teams, and come out and support our student-athletes.
