2017 Tradition of Excellence
Honoring our Community
On Thursday, May 11, Matignon held its third annual Tradition of Excellence Gala. The record-breaking event raised $230,000 in scholarships, and overall has raised nearly $700,000 since its inception in 2015.
A sincere thank you to all supporters and donors who made this evening a tremendous success, surpassing our previous years’ already fruitful efforts towards making a Matignon education attainable for all students and their families.

The Gala, held at the Boston Marriott in Cambridge with over 220 people in attendance, was also a wonderful opportunity to honor 3 revered members of our Matignon family, who have each left their unique mark on the school, its students, and the greater community:
Howard "Hap" V.
The Late Richard A.
Edward T. Nedder

The purpose and impact of the evening were perhaps best articulated by our keynote speaker, Mardochee Sylvestre ‘17, who stated that her career goal is to return to Matignon as a faculty member to teach math and to emulate the guidance and support she herself received from her teachers.
“As I am headed towards this next part of my life I am extremely grateful for the tremendous influence Matignon has had on me… It is because of you that we can accomplish so much and achieve our goals. Your generosity has helped me and many other students at Matignon become successful. So rest assured, your support is creating something truly amazing.”
Thank you again to all who made this night an outstanding and impactful celebration of our community. We especially thank our planning committee and all our supporters from the evening. View our program book for all the details from the celebrations! We look forward to seeing you at future Matignon events!
