National Honors Society

Father Matignon Chapter

The Father Matignon National Honor Society is named after Boston’s pioneer missionary priest Father Francis Anthony Matignon.

Membership in the National Honor Society of Matignon High School is by invitation only for sophomores, juniors and seniors.  A faculty council of five teachers selects students for membership on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership and service.

In order to be considered for membership a student must qualify scholastically with a 3.70 cumulative grade point average (starting with the Class of 2015). Next, candidates must demonstrate character, leadership and service within the school and outside community. Required also is evidence of active membership in a minimum of three extracurricular activities per year.  One activity can be outside employment during the school year.  Students must submit a Student Activity Information Form as documentation of their leadership, service and character.
